The Canadian Seal hunt….cant believe we’re still talkin’ about this!

well first of all, there are many stories going around about how humane the seal hunt is and how its an important part of our tradition and all. This hunt must stop, period.  The Canadian seal hunt is one of the biggest fur trades in the world with over 1 million seal pups killed within the last two years, over 95% of seals of this hunt are only just days or weeks old. Not to mention that its the worlds largest slaughter of marine animals and most of the seal been killed is only used for fur and the rest is left to rot on the ice floes. For me any slaughtering of an animal is wrong, but when a life of an animal is being wasted like this…not only is it wrong its also disgusting! .Its the most babaric marine mammal slaughter on the planet, the canadian government use the seals as a scapegoat for mismanagement of fish stocks, a commercial resource and a political football. According to a recent survey by the IFAW 68% of canadians DO NOT support the seal hunt, so i Stephen harper and the politicians in Ottawa should get off their high horse and see the hunt for what it really is! It hurts me to know that humans can have no respect for animals and that we can allow such atrocities to continue.
